- Abstract
The article discusses research presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology which suggests that drugs that inhibit cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) enzymes may be useful as chemo-prevention agents in the treatment of lung cancer. A report on research into to potential options for imaging protocols that may aid clinicians in deciding which lung cancer patients will benefit most from surgery is highlighted. Concepts involving targeted combination therapies in the treatment of lung cancer are examined.
