- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between the perception of legitimacy and pro-social attitudes, such as energy conservation. By using a self-administered questionnaire, this study explored local energy providers' perception of legitimacy as well as their attitudes towards saving energy. Results show that legitimacy perception and energy conservation have relatively low scores and have a positive relationship. In practical terms, the energy providers need to improve their perception of legitimacy to influence prosocial behaviors such as energy-saving.
