- Abstract
The article presents the author's insights on the religious traditions of women in Khuldabad, India. It states the author's research in January 2009 which reveals that Muslim women only visit the dargahs to picnic and enjoy rituals and not to petition the saints because of some preaching that dargah rituals are un-Islamic. It discusses how the Khuldabad has turned into a town of opposing Islamic worldviews because of rituals and festivals. It also notes the theological principles of the Ahle Hadith (People of the Hadith) and the Tablighi Jamaat. It adds that opposing opinions about the dargah rituals result to conflict between women and their husbands, siblings, and the community as a whole which makes the place a town of opposing Islamic worldviews.
