- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the risk and risk factors for chronic opioid use among opioid-naive patients who were newly diagnosed with musculoskeletal pain in the neck, knee, shoulder, or low back. The study reportedly involved data from the IBM MarketScan database from January 2007 to December 2015. The results revealed that the risk for chronic opioid use were only small for certain anatomical regions, suggesting that the efforts to reduce the use of opioid is successful.
