- Authors
Hagen, Susan K.
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the religious biography "Second Nun's Tale" by Geoffrey Chaucer is presented. It explores the changes in the status of women from the early Christian movement to the late 14th century. It examines the martyrdom and trial of the historical woman Cecilia. It also mentions that Chaucer did not see Cecilia as a revolutionary character in order to define her as a woman of unusual strength of will.
