- Abstract
The article presents an overview on the structure of Gothic tapestries that suggests new interpretation of late medieval art and history. It highlights the book "Designing Tapestry," by Jean Lucas that became an instrumental in the reinforcement of the analysis by guiding to the several aspects of tapestry designs and techniques. It further emphasizes the significance of Gothic tapestry as a separate and individual art form wherein changes in figural proportion and movements reflect the perceptual and conceptual shifts in medieval cosmological thinking.
