- Abstract
Goldenhar syndrome is a rare syndrome characterized with the anomaly involving the 1.and 2nd branchial arches. Associated anomalies include facial hypoplasia, micrognathia, hypoplastic zygomatic arch, external ear malformations, hearing loss, oral cavity anomalies and cervical vertebral anomalies. Patients with Goldenhar syndrome are known to present with challenging airways. Tracheal intubation can be difficult because of airway and cervical vertebral anomalies and bag mask ventilation may be difficult because of asymmetrical face. We present two cases of difficult intubation with Goldenhar syndrome. In the first case we intubated the patient with great difficulty and then, we used laryngeal mask for this patient during MR imaging. In the other case we used fiberoptic bronchoscope for intubation.
