- Abstract
This article presents a case study of a kitten with lung nodules. The kitten was found as a stray and presented with respiratory distress and inappetence. Postmortem examination revealed numerous pale tan nodules throughout the lungs, and cytologic examination confirmed the presence of Aelurostrongylus abstrusus larvae and ova. Histopathology further confirmed a heavy infection of A. abstrusus. The article discusses the lifecycle of the parasite, diagnostic methods, and the importance of considering A. abstrusus as a differential diagnosis in cats with respiratory disease.
