- Abstract
The article discusses various aspects of the first human efficacy trial of an Ebola vaccine, held in July 2015. It states that the rVSVZEBOV virus vaccine, expressing surface glycoprotein of Zaire Ebola virus, was initially developed by Public Health Agency of Canada in 2003, and its results in non-human primates gave positive results. It states that ring-vaccination trial of rVSVZEBOV began in 2015, by the World Health Organization and other health agencies from South Africa and Canada.
