- Abstract
We measured the tumor thickness on histology to make a reliable comparison to the in vivo US and ex vivo US tumor thickness measurements. A complete initial resection without the need for reresection is preferred since reresections come with relocation problems.[[4]] The surgeon can immediately adjust the resection plane if the intraoral US measures an inadequate margin. In those cases, it is possible to immediately adjust the resection plane with intraoral US or adjust it by a reresection after ex vivo US.
