- Abstract
The article discusses the eleventh National Labour History Conference of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History, which convened in Perth on July 8-10, 2009. Representing the Nyungar people and presenting opening comments was Kim Collard. Three plenary sessions included an historical analysis by emeritus professor David Brody of labor law in the U.S., a roundtable discussion on issues surrounding family and work, and an address by Ann Curthoys of the University of Sydney on research she has conducted into a 1960 visit to Australia and New Zealand by U.S. performer Paul Robeson.
