AUSTRALIA'S ACCESSION TO THE CYBERCRIME CONVENTION: IS THE CONVENTION STILL RELEVANT IN COMBATING CYBERCRIME IN THE ERA OF BOTNETS AND OBFUSCATION CRIME TOOLS?
- Authors
Maurushat, Alana
- Abstract
The article discusses the intention of Australia to accede to the international treaty "Council of Europe's Convention on Cybercrime." It says that Australia criminalises the categories of conduct that are needed for the signatories of the Convention, including forgery and computer fraud, offences related to child pornography, and offences on copyright infringement. It adds that the Australian law does not need changes considering its relations with the substantive provisions in the Convention.
