- Abstract
The article discusses the convergence of motion pictures, television and computer games. The author compares this convergence to the relationship between the motion picture and television broadcasting industries such as the sharing of talent, the television broadcasting of films and corporate mergers. The development of computer games as a result of research into television technology and the use of computer game consoles as a method of promoting television sales are noted. Elements from computer games were integrated into motion pictures such as "Tron" and "Wargames," and computer games received a rating system similar to that used by the Motion Picture Association of America.
