- Authors

- Abstract
The article provides information on the tourmaline mining operations in Nandihizana, Madagascar. The area where the tourmaline deposit was found lies within the region called Camp Robin. A number of mining activities happened in the area when about 5,000 diggers and gem traders descended on the site. The tourmaline was taken from soil and a huge underlying granitic pegmatite with a north-south strike and a subvertical dip. The tourmaline demand is quite high in the country. However, recently the production of tourmaline from Nandihizana has dropped.
