- Abstract
Cepsa and Bio-Oils are collaborating to build a large-scale biofuels plant in Spain, which will produce sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel. The plant, along with existing facilities in Huelva, will form the second-largest renewable fuels complex in Europe. The construction is expected to be completed in 2026 after a €1.2 billion investment. In other news, Röhm GmbH has expanded its production capacity for Plexiglas molding compounds in Germany, while Trinseo has initiated the process of selling its 50% stake in the AmSty joint venture. Solvay and Carester have signed a memorandum of understanding to form a strategic partnership related to rare-earth magnets, and Evonik Industries is selling its superabsorbents business to the International Chemical Investors Group. Lastly, LyondellBasell has acquired plastics-recycling assets from PreZero and plans to use the processing facility in California to manufacture post-consumer recycled resins.
