The article examines the narrativity gender in the novel "The Palace of Illusions," by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Divakaruni has won many accolades and awards in the U.S., and has written around 17 novels translated into 16 languages. The author's note that he was left unsatisfied by the portrayals of the women in the novel. An overview of the story is presented.
