- Abstract
The article presents a case study on the influence of friendship, culture and parenting observations among immigrant families on home visits by early childhood educators. The study identifies themes that may impact parent educators and education professionals including the importance of valuing cultural child-rearing practices, role of economic bias and socioeconomic status in building relations with immigrant families, and tendency to favor the dominant culture in education-oriented efforts.
