Ultraprocessed Deadly Corporate Food Demands Action.

- Abstract
Ultraprocessed foods (UPFs) are heavily sugared, nutritionally stripped foods that are deceptively marketed to children. The rise in UPF consumption since the 1980s has contributed to alarming rates of obesity and overweight individuals in the United States. UPFs are associated with various health problems, including heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and mental health issues. Despite their negative impact on health, UPFs make up a significant portion of children and teenagers' calorie intake, and there is little regulation on their advertising. To combat this, parents are encouraged to educate themselves and their children about healthier food choices and consider growing their own food.
