- Abstract
The article discusses the results on a study about the cost of road reforestation in a boreal environment in Finland. Revegetation treatments are either no transplanting or transplanting hummocks with tree saplings. To evaluate the cost, the time to implement each treatment combination is measured, as well as the hourly price of 61€ that includes machine rental, operator salary, and taxes. It was found that the costs of road reforestation depend largely on the methods. The time needed for ripping and transplanting is affected by landform features, depth of ditches, and position of stream crossings.
