- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on celebrating mass in Latin and in local vernacular. All religions have a sacral language wherein a sacral music grows around it with its vocabulary, accentuation pattern, and cursus. The author stresses that both are not easy to separate. On the other side of the fence, celebrating mass in vernacular is an important catechetical tool for weddings and funerals. The author concludes that both are important but Latin must be used in worship because it is the historic language of the Latin Church.
