- Authors
Rizzolo, Denise; Sedrak, Mona
- Abstract
The article focuses on the effects of treating bone loss from osteoporosis and osteopenia therapy using bisphosphonates. It states that patients taking bisphosphonates developed a bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (BRONJ). It notes that BRONJ patients must undergo a comprehensive oral examination and extraction of unsalvageable teeth that must be performed prior to the initiation of bisphosphonate therapy.
