- Abstract
The article discusses the abuse of synthetic human growth hormone (hGH) by U.S. teenagers. Topics discussed include the use of hGH by high school athletes as well as teens who are not athletes, the reasons teens abuse hGH and other performance-enhancing drugs, and the securing of the drug through the use of a prescription. A science classroom activity designed to teach students about hGH is also provided.
