- Abstract
The article offers information on the completion of 50 years of the Fair Housing Act of 1968 (FHA), which was enacted to protect both buyers and renters from certain types of discrimination. Topics discussed include U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Jones v. Alfred H. Mayer Co.; rule holding landlords liable for policies passed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 2013; and addition of disability and familial status in the Federal Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988.
