- Abstract
The article discusses amendments made to the definition of beer in the Alcohol Beverages Control Act of California that directs the Department of Alcohol Beverage Control to regulate the manufacturing, distribution, sale, and taxation of alcoholic beverages. It presents an analysis of Chapter 96 amendments which states that beer aged in an empty wooden barrel shall be defined exclusively as "beer." It mentions that Chapter 96 shields craft brewers from higher taxes on barrel-aged beer.
