- Abstract
This article focuses on the philosophy of science. The philosophical traditions of the present century are rooted in the scientific revolution of the seventeenth century. Most of these recent philosophic traditions are characterized by an urgent desire for objectivity, empiricism and elimination of metaphysics, or rather, by an attempt to eliminate metaphysics. The philosophy of science moulds the general attitudes which form the foundations of the various theories of science teaching. One can view the development of science as a critical dialogue between the various philosophies of science.
