The article explores the "Towneley Shepherds Pageants," a set of medieval English plays that dramatize events from Christian salvation history. Topics discussed include on two pageants within the Towneley cycle that depict the shepherds' visit to the newborn Jesus, highlighting how the playwrights used language and action to transform space, place, and identity, inviting the audience to engage with the narrative and reflect on their own identities within society.
