The article discusses research on mutualistic interactions in plants and pollinators which promote coexistence of species. It cites a study which argues that the number of partners the species have is what pushes the coexistence in the systems. Results show that species having few partners are more possibly to be extinct than species with many partners. It adds that the link of the ecological network is a predictor of persistence.
