- Abstract
The population is aging, new cancer diagnoses are rising, and older adults are increasingly undergoing major cancer surgery ([1]). Studies examining the association of frailty with patient-centered and real-world perioperative outcomes, like this one, continue to emphasize the importance of, and need for, multidisciplinary care for older adults undergoing surgery. Finally, providers caring for older adults undergoing surgery should aim to include routine assessment of frailty and counseling on patient-centered outcomes in their daily practice.
