- Abstract
The article looks at challenges facing Brazil and China in delivering lung cancer care. During the late 1980s to the 200s, smoking rates in Brazil have dropped from almost a third of the population to 17%. By 2020, Brazil's antismoking campaigns intend to drop the adult smoking rate to 11%. Information on smoking prevalence in China is provided. The estimated number of new lung cancer cases in China by 2025 is more than one million.
