- Abstract
Thirdly, insertions of Dutch words are no longer limited to simple content words, as they now include longer chunks, as well as Dutch words with Dutch inflectional morphology. The paper by B Backus b and B Demirçay b explores Turkish-Dutch codeswitching in the Turkish community in the Netherlands, comparing CS patterns over several generations. The fluent alternation between two or more languages is in the literature referred to by a variety of terms, but the most common one is I codeswitching i (CS). The data to answer these questions come from an acceptability judgment task in which Dutch-English bilinguals rated Dutch sentences including an English noun and different definite determiner options (e.g., I nen chair i "a chair", I het rent i "the rent").
