- Abstract
The article presents an analysis on the biographical study on the Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn by professor Alexander Altmann. According to the author, Altmann has extensively and intensively studied Mendelssohn as well as historically and philosophically. He introduced the childhood of Mendelssohn by a detailed account of his family genealogy, the court Jews and the rise of Jewish community in Dessau, Germany. He also described that Mendelssohn was a man of greater erudition, deeper philosophical thought and originality that generally recognized.
