Mentalization-based treatment for borderline personality disorder.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the result of the study that demonstrates the effectiveness of mentalization-based treatment for patients with borderline personality disorder. Mentalization-based treatment aims to assist the patient in developing more adaptive ways of thinking and expression of emotion. It depicts that patients who undergone mentalization have significantly improved in six months of therapy and continued to improve until 18 months, while the control group stayed the same or deteriorated.
