The article presents a method of determining the critical values of external hydrostatic pressure for a cylindrical (untapered) shell with helical anisotropy and solving this problem. It is found that the developed algorithm is not attached to the cylindrical shape of the shell and is easily transferred to an arbitrary shape of the shell of revolution even if its meridian has no simple analytical expression.
