- Abstract
This article looks from a historical account of institutionalism and get's to the contemporary practice known as neo-institutionalism. Institutionalism considers institutions as operating rules of society. Institutionalisms describe the institutions as a government action in the organizational fields. The institutions are considered as resources of agents and rational actors to obtain the achievement of your objectives. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the main characteristics and theoretical features of the institutionalism and the new institutionalism with their different currents and perspectives. While analyzing these theoretical methodological perspectives it is adopted a critical attitude which allows dimensioning the main scopes through the time and space. The methods that will be used in this research are: the historical descriptive method, analytical methods, qualitative methods, quantitative methods, research methods etc.
