- Abstract
The article clarifies the position of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on the joint award programs in relation to its publication of educational standards for nursing and social work courses in Great Britain. Academics claimed that they fear that the standards will end the joint courses by making a clear distinction between nursing and social work. However, NMC argued that it has no intention of preventing universities from offering joint award programs as long as the integrity of the nursing program is maintained.
