Central Nervous System Infections in Hydrocephalus or Myelodysplasia.
- Authors

- Abstract
Review of the literature and experience with 19 CNS infections in infants with CNS malformations suggest prognosis is not worse with neonates with malformations and is directly related to virulence of the infecting organism. Recovery is also dependent on treatment that will provide bacteriocidal levels of antibiotic into the infected tissue and fluids and on correction of disturbed intracranial fluid dynamics, both tissue fluid (edema) and cerebrospinal fluid.
