- Abstract
The article offers information on the gradual development and the evolution of the classic, vernacular motel room in the U.S. from 1926 to 1970. It looks into the progress and quality of motel rooms offering basic amenities in the late 1920s, comfort with interesting interior design from 1936 to 1945, and modernistic design from 1945 to 1960. It also notes the motel rooms' increased efficiency from 1955 to 1970 due to the technological developments and modern arrangements.
