- Abstract
The article presents information about isolated non-compaction cardiomyopathy (NCCM), a type of myocardial abnormality. A disturbance in the compaction process during embryonal morphogenesis of the myocardium is main cause of NCCM. The main features of NCCM are heart failure, thromboembolic events, and intraventricular thrombi. NCCM may also lead to multiple types of arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
