- Abstract
The study of complex systems is one of the main research objects of the so-called 'the new complexity sciences'. These sciences aim to understand phenomena such as self-organization, emergence, uncertainty, non-linear order, and chaos-order dynamic of complex systemic totalities in the physical, natural and socio-cultural world. In spite of the importance of the knowledge and technologies produced by complexity sciences, in the context of different disciplines of contemporary sciences, they have not been yet systematically and explicitly articulated with the knowledge of social sciences. The goal of this paper is to proceed with a socio-historical and epistemological analysis of the comparative method in political science and articulate it with the developments of complex systems theory. The contribution to which this paper aspires is to strengthen an interdisciplinary dialogue between complexity sciences and political sciences.
