- Abstract
The article focuses on the issues of trade deflection related to the U.S. fishery and seafood trade. It says that the country is the largest producer and importer of seafood products in the world. It states that the growth in imports has raised concerns on the safety of imported foods. Moreover, it examines the magnitudes of trade deflection that result from stricter food safety measures deployed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
