- Title
Techniques for Predicting How Sized Yarns Will Weave.
- Authors
Walker, Robert P.; Perkins, Warren S.
- Abstract
The yarn properties which are believed to influence the performance of sized yarns in weaving are reviewed. Results of studies designed to correlate yarn properties with weaving performance are presented. Devices and techniques for examination of sized yarns are described. Yarn abrasion resistance is shown to have a positive correlation to size add-on level and to be Influenced adversely by the presence of wax in polyvinyl alcohol based size formulations.
