- Title
Patients Often Lack Choice Regarding Care Via Telehealth.
- Authors
Bendix, Jeffrey
- Abstract
The article discusses a 2023 study which shows that telehealth is the only option for about one-third of patients seeking behavioral health services even when in-person treatment is preferred. Results show that 45% of patients did not think their clinician considered their preferences when deciding on the visit type. Also noted is the need to implement telehealth in a manner that expands, rather than contracts, behavioral health access and options for patients.
