Nâ'ilî has a unique importance among 17. Century Classical Turkish poets. He as if had taken upon himself the mission of a bridge to transmit the accumulation that tradition had laid upon him. At his poetry, it is possible to find almost all values belonging to tradition such as: inspirations and influences and many different excerpts from the poets that have written poems before him; common stereotype rhyme connotations that has processed over the centuries, poetic forms with similar content created in his own world of poetry, discourse from the Islamic and Sufi sources, conventional or unique metaphor usages, statements regarding Sebk-i Hindî, common images of classical poets' minds, , the acquisitions of terminology offered by different disciplines for instance astronomy, semantic structures formed on the axis of the elements about nature, music, archery and games; excerptions from folk culture and literature, narrative properties and stylistic values that are seen in mesnevîs which have traditional expression form. At this point, the poetry of Nâ'ilî-i Kadîm must be thought and evaluated in the context of Classical Turkish Poetry, and it is a sample that must be based healthy foundation with a inter textual reading. By this article, Nâ'ilî-i Kadîm's components of poetry are determined in the context of intertextuality, and those components are evaluated by giving examples of the poems belonging to the poet.
