- Abstract
The article presents literary criticism of the book "Anil's Ghost" by Michael Ondaatje. Particular focus is given to the role of cosmopolitanism in the novel and to the concept of partial cosmopolitanism as developed by philosopher Kwame Anthony Appiah. According to the author, the novel examines the expatriate protagonist's alienation from her Sri Lankan homeland as well as her return and reconnection to the country and her new identity as a partial cosmopolitan.
