In spite of considerable health risks for the unborn, one of seven pregnant women in Germany continues using alcoholic beverages. Meta-analyses show significant but small effects of internet-delivered interventions toward an increase of alcohol abstinence. The structure and function of the IRIS program (www.iris-plattform.de) as a typical intervention program based on cognitive behavioural principles and methods will be described.
