- Abstract
In the article, the author examines the diversity of her choices when selecting literature in her work as literacy educator in the U.S. as of March 2016. She cites some benefits of teaching great literature like understanding various perspectives and learning about life experiences. Also cited are a checklist to determine the diversity of books in a classroom library, and the need for teachers to determine whether the books presented to students will be read by them.
