- Abstract
After the two huge earthquakes happened in 1999, the importance of quality of materials used in the construction of buildings has risen on the agenda of our country. Today the concrete durability can easily be optained with a low cost. As the strenght of the concrete increases, it increases the quality of the building. In this process it is emphasized that increasing the concrete resistance does not increase the cost of construction on the contrary it result in a small saving. In our study, three types of projects have been used and each containing 5, 7 and 9 flors. In these totally nine different projects C 16, 20, 25, 30, 35 and S 420 steel have been used with commercial analaysing programme to enlighten the sector. The cost of the constructions have been globally calculated by making the concrete, steel and formwork measurements. These costs are analysed by regression and the relations between them are combined as a quadratic equation. According to this it seen that with the increase in the concrete classes the costs decrease. The cost of buildings designed by C16 concrete is taken as base and 8-10 % economy in C 20 concrete, 10-15 % economy in C 25 and C 30 concretes are observed.
