- Title
From Insect Communication to Bacterial Communication.
- Authors
Schulz, Stefan
- Abstract
The author reflects on chemical and biological aspects of insect communication. Topics discussed include an analysis of the applications of insect pheromones and autoinducers to determine the initiation and transmission of chemical message, information on quorum-sensing trait found in bacteria for communication, and chemical aspects of N-acylhomoserine lactones used by gram-negative bacteria for bacterial communication.
