Cold spring prolongs Nematodirus infective period in Northern Ireland.
- Abstract
The article provides an overview of examinations on various diseases in animals in Northern Ireland. A 180 degree torsion of a one-month-old calf's abomasum was discovered to be the cause of its death which was submitted for postmortem examination. Rotavirus and Cryptosporidium species were identified as the most common pathogens distinguished in neonatal bovine faecal samples. A yearling heifer was diagnosed of infectious thrombotic meningoencephalitis after it died within six hours.
