- Abstract
The article reports on the study that analyzed the relationship between antemortem conditions, struggling and the downgrading of carcases in ducks. It indicated that minimizing neighboring interference and pretunning electric shocks can effectively reduce the struggling of ducks and the number of downgraded carcases. It suggested that good antemortem conditions and appropriate shackling intervals are essential to reduce struggling behavior and downgrading of carcases.
